Primary schools to remain open on 10 Saturdays to make up for Ramadan closures

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has decided to keep primary schools open on 10 Saturdays (weekly holidays) to compensate for learning loss caused by the closure of schools throughout Ramadan.

The decision was communicated in a circular signed by the ministry's Deputy Director Md Aynal Abedin on Tuesday, March 24. Senior Information Officer Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin confirmed the information.

The circular stated that due to the closure of schools throughout Ramadan, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has instructed that classes be conducted on the 10 Saturdays following the Ramadan holiday period at government primary schools to compensate for students' learning loss.

Instructions have been issued to take necessary steps accordingly. The relevant letter has been sent to all district primary education officers.
