Probe committee formed on Rajshahi train collision
A three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the collision between the intercity Dhumketu and Banglabandha Express trains near Rajshahi Railway Station.
Abdul Awal, assistant chief operating superintendent, confirmed that the committee was formed at around 10:00 pm on Saturday (March 15).
The committee includes Divisional Transport Officer Mosh Hasina Khatun, Mechanical Engineer Ashish Kumar Mondol, and Divisional Engineer-2 Birbol Mondol, has been directed to submit its report within the next three working days.
Due to a signal issue, the Banglabandha Express and Dhumketu Express collided on Saturday, March 15, at 1:45pm, causing two coaches to derail and damaging four bogies.
A rescue train arrived in the afternoon to clear the wreckage and repair the tracks. Train services resumed at 7:30 pm.
