According to the proposed budget, rice, wheat, potato, onion, garlic, peas, chickpeas, lentils, ginger, turmeric, dry chillies, dal, maize, flour, salt, edible oil, sugar, pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, dates , supply of bay leaves, jute, cotton, yarn and all kinds of fruits will be charged one percent at the source instead of the current 2 percent. On the other hand, the total tax rate on importing packaged milk powder weighing up to 2.5 kg has been lowered from 89.32 percent to 58.60 percent.
