Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian appointed new PSC chairman

Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian of the Law Department of Dhaka University has been appointed as the chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC). His appointment was informed in an order of the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (September 2).

Earlier, Professor Mobasser Momen recently resigned from the post of PSC chairman. As a result, the post fell vacant.

Professor Mobasser Momen was appointed as the chairman of PSC in October 2024 during the interim government. He was a professor of the Public Administration Department of Dhaka University.

After the mass uprising in 2024, when the interim government took charge, the then PSC chairman Md Sohrab Hossain along with 12 members of the commission resigned. After that, Professor Mobasser Momen was appointed as the chairman of PSC.
