Professor Mosharraf Hossain appointed DUCSU treasurer

Dhaka University (DU) Finance Department Chairman, Professor Dr. H.M. Mosharraf Hossain, has been appointed as the Treasurer of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU).

The announcement was made on Sunday (September 21) through a notice signed by DU Registrar Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmed. According to the notice, the appointment was made by the Vice-Chancellor under Clause 6(A) of the DUCSU constitution. Officials expect the new appointment to bring fresh energy to DUCSU’s activities.

DUCSU, a historically significant student body at Dhaka University, had been inactive for several years despite its mandate to operate through regular elections. Following the DUCSU elections of 2025, the union’s activities have resumed this year after a hiatus since 2019.
