Traffic came to a halt at the Shahbagh intersection on Thursday morning as a group of protesters, calling themselves "July Warriors," staged a blockade demanding the implementation of the July Charter.

The demonstration began around 11:00 AM, with more than a hundred participants gathering at the intersection, waving red and green flags. Members of law enforcement, including police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), were deployed to maintain order in the area.

Protesters claimed that despite repeated assurances from the authorities, the July Charter has yet to be implemented. Among the demonstrators were injured freedom fighters and family members of martyrs, who said they felt forced to take to the streets due to continued government inaction.

“The July Charter is not a demand—it is our right,” said one protester. “We will not leave until our demands are met.”

The group also warned that if the charter is not implemented soon, they will set up a temporary stage at Shahbagh and continue their sit-in indefinitely.

Traffic remained suspended in and around Shahbagh, causing significant disruption to commuters. Authorities have increased security measures in the area.
