Protests continue at Nagar Bhaban

Employees of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have been staging a sit-in at Nagar Bhaban, demanding that BNP leader Ishraque Hossain be given the responsibilities of mayor. Supporters of Ishraque have also gathered at Nagar Bhaban under the banner of "Dhakabashi" (Residents of Dhaka).

They have blocked the main entrance and locked the gates of all DSCC departmental offices. As a result, all service activities remain suspended today as well.

Since Tuesday morning, Ishraque supporters and members of the DSCC workers' union have been protesting on the steps inside the main gate of the DSCC headquarters in Gulistan. Due to this, all service operations based in the City Hall remain shut. Service seekers are returning empty-handed.

Meanwhile, Ishraque Hossain is expected to visit the City Hall around 3 PM to check on the protesters.

On the other hand, supporters of Ishraque under the banners of "Dhaka South City Corporation Workers’ Union" and “Dhakabashi” are marching at intervals inside the City Hall gate. As a result of their ongoing protest, all civic services from City Hall have been suspended since May 15.
