Prvez Babul receives ‘Rajshahi Chora Sangsad’ Award
Journalist, columnist and researcher Parvez Babul has received the Rajshahi Chora (Poem) Sangsad Award in recognition of his research-based work on the environment and women’s development.
The award was presented at a ceremony at the Rajshahi City Bhaban, organised by Rajshahi Chora Sangsad to celebrate rhyme literature and cultural practices while honouring distinguished personalities from across the country.
As an author, poet and activist, Babul has earlier received honours from various organisations for his contributions to journalism, poetry, environmental advocacy and women’s development.
His writings focus on environmental protection, gender equality, justice, safety and empowerment, and he has authored more than 300 contemporary articles published in mainstream English dailies.
Babul’s work has also been included in the curriculum of the University of Connecticut in the United States.
To date, he has published 11 books, including essays, novels and poetry in both Bengali and English.
