PSC announces implementation of 'one BCS one year' policy
The Public Service Commission, PSC, has announced the implementation of a one BCS one year policy to reduce delays in the civil service recruitment process. Under the policy, the entire process, from publication of the circular to release of final results, will be completed within one year.
PSC chairman Professor Mobashwer Monem made the announcement on Tuesday, November 6, at an event marking Public Administration Day at the University of Dhaka.
He said the commission had already taken several initiatives to reduce the backlog of BCS examinations and was now working towards completing each BCS recruitment process within 12 months. He expressed hope that this would significantly reduce the long waiting period for candidates.
The PSC chairman also said effective measures had been taken to prevent question paper leaks, adding that there was currently no scope for such irregularities.
Public Administration Day is organised every year to raise students’ awareness about career prospects. The event is hosted by the Department of Public Administration at the University of Dhaka.
The PSC confirmed that 290,951 candidates have applied to sit the 50th BCS examination.
