RAB arrests 'Khabir Bahini' chief with firearm in Khulna
Members of RAB-6 have arrested the alleged leader of the notorious robbery gang 'Khabir Bahini', Khabir Molla, 47, during a special operation in Khulna, recovering a locally made firearm, ammunition and sharp weapons from his possession.
According to RAB-6 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Nistar Ahmed, the operation was carried out around 5:20pm on Tuesday (July 7) in the Gazirhat area of Dighalia upazila following a tip-off.
During the raid, RAB detained Khabir Molla, a resident of Jangushia village in Dighalia and son of Kausar Molla. Law enforcers recovered one one-shooter gun, two rounds of live ammunition and a Chinese-made axe from his possession.
The seized items were confiscated in the presence of witnesses in accordance with legal procedures.
RAB described Khabir as a professional armed robber and the alleged leader of an organised criminal gang operating in the region.
A review of his criminal record found that he is accused in 13 cases filed with police stations in Khulna and Narail, including charges of murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
Following the operation, a case was filed against him under the Arms Act, and he was handed over to Dighalia Police Station along with the seized weapons for further legal action.
