Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members today seized 24 crude bombs and 4.5 kilogrammes of gunpowder from the house of a local Awami League member in Pabna's Sadar upazila early Thursday. Rab-12 Commander and Squadron leader Eliyas Khan said that acting on a tip-off, a team conducted a raid at the house of Abdus Salam at Masimpur village late Wednesday night. During the operation, the Rab members seized the crude bombs and the gunpowder from there. Two smoke bombs were seized from the house too. Abdus Salam remains absconding since August 5 after the fall of AL regime, Rab Commander Eliyas said. However, no one was found inside the house during the drive, he said. A case was filed with Pabna Sadar Police Station today in this regard.

পাবনা সদর উপজেলার মাসিমপুর গ্রামে আওয়ামী লীগের সদস্য আবদুস সালামের বাড়ি থেকে ২৪টি ককটেল বোমা এবং ৪.৫ কেজি গানপাউডার জব্দ করেছেন র‍্যাব সদস্যরা। বৃহস্পতিবার (১৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি) ভোরে র‍্যাব-১২ কমান্ডার স্কোয়াড্রন লিডার ইলিয়াস খান জানান, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে বুধবার (১২ মার্চ) গভীর রাতে ওই বাড়িতে অভিযান চালানো হয়। অভিযানে দুটি স্মোক বোমাও জব্দ করা হয়েছে। তিনি জানান, তবে অভিযানের সময় বাড়ির ভেতরে কাউকে পাওয়া যায়নি। আওয়ামী লীগ শাসনের পতনের পর গত বছরের ৫ আগস্ট থেকে আবদুস সালাম পলাতক রয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় পাবনা সদর থানায় মামলা হয়েছে।
