As part of this, RAB conducted eight mobile courts in various locations on Saturday, April 11, and seized 5,876 litres of illegally hoarded edible oil. The concerned establishments were also fined Tk 220,000 for engaging in dishonest business practices.

RAB shared this information in a press release. According to the release, mobile courts were conducted in Rupshi, Gangpara, Kazipara, Puran Rail Station and Panchdona areas of Rupganj in Narayanganj. The mobile court fined five establishments for unauthorised hoarding of edible oil and operating without valid licences.

On the other hand, operations were conducted at several warehouses in Feni Sadar area, including M/S Azad and Brothers, M/S Nasir Enterprise and Bihari Bhowmik Enterprise. Officials found expired licences, storage of products in unhygienic conditions, and illegal hoarding of edible oil in drums. The establishments were warned and instructed to maintain proper sanitation and operate their businesses in compliance with regulations.

RAB officials said intelligence surveillance has been strengthened to identify dishonest traders who create market instability through hoarding and black marketing. Regular operations and mobile courts will continue to maintain the supply of essential commodities.
