Rain likely in Dhaka and surrounding areas
The sky over Dhaka and nearby areas is expected to be partly to temporarily cloudy on Saturday, with a possibility of rain or thunderstorms. The daytime temperature may increase slightly, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
In a forecast issued for the next six hours from 7.00am on Saturday (June 21), it said that winds from the south or southeast may blow at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.
The weather office also reported that at 6 am, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 27.8°C with 90% humidity. In the past 24 hours, Dhaka received 2 millimeters of rainfall. Friday’s highest temperature was 32°C, and Saturday morning’s lowest was 27.5°C.
Meanwhile, due to active monsoon conditions, heavy to very heavy rainfall and gusty or stormy winds may occur over the North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh, and the maritime ports. As a result, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra ports have been advised to keep local warning signal number 3 hoisted.
