Rain or thundershowers may occur in the capital and surrounding areas by night, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said.

The forecast was issued for the six-hour period from 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 16.

The sky over Dhaka and adjoining areas may remain partly cloudy to cloudy during this period, with chances of rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in some places.

Winds may blow from the south or south-east at 10 to 15 kilometres per hour, the Met office said.

The temperature in Dhaka at 6:00 pm on Saturday was recorded at 33.8 degrees Celsius, with air humidity at 58 per cent.

The maximum temperature in Dhaka on Saturday was 35.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 26.6 degrees Celsius.
