Rain, possible hailstorms forecast for Eid day

Depending on the sighting of the moon, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr may be celebrated in the country on March 20 or 21. The Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of rain and gusty winds in various parts of the country during this time.

According to the forecast published on Wednesday, March 18, on March 20, rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds may occur at some places in Rangpur, Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places in Barishal and Khulna divisions.

There is also a possibility of scattered hailstorms in some parts of the country during this time. Day and night temperatures may drop slightly across the country.

Similar weather conditions are likely on March 21 as well. On this day, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in some areas of Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Hailstorms may also occur in some places across the country on this day, according to the weather office. However, while daytime temperatures may decrease slightly, night temperatures may remain almost unchanged.
