Rain, thunderstorms likely across large parts of country today
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms across large parts of the country as the monsoon remains active over Bangladesh.
According to the latest weather bulletin issued on Saturday (June 20), many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds.
The forecast also indicates that some parts of Rajshahi division may witness rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning activity.
The weather office warned that moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas, potentially causing localized waterlogging and temporary disruption to daily activities.
Despite the expected rainfall, day and night temperatures across the country are likely to remain nearly unchanged, the BMD said.
Meteorologists expect the prevailing monsoon conditions to continue influencing the country's weather pattern over the coming days, sustaining the likelihood of widespread rain and thunderstorms.
