A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck Rangpur today and lasted 27 seconds. The tremor was felt at 2:02pm on Thursday (November 21). Mostafizar Rahman, assistant director at Rangpur Meteorological Office, confirmed the matter. He said, "The epicenter of the earthquake was in Rangpur Sadar, with a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale. The tremor lasted only a few seconds.' "However, no damage was reported anywhere," he added.

রংপুরসহ আশপাশের এলাকায় মৃদু ভূকম্পন অনুভূত হয়েছে। ২৭ সেকেন্ড স্থায়ী এ কম্পনের মাত্রা ছিল ৩ দশমিক ১। বৃহস্পতিবার (২১ নভেম্বর) দুপুর ২টা ২ মিনিটে এ কম্পন অনুভূত হয়। রংপুর আবহাওয়া অফিসের আবহাওয়াবিদ মোস্তাফিজার রহমান বলেন, রংপুর সদর থেকে এ ভূমিকম্পের উৎপত্তি। এর মাত্রা ছিল রিখটার স্কেলে ৩ দশমিক ১। তবে ভূমিকম্পে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে কোনো ক্ষয়ক্ষতির খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
