Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JaGPa) spokesperson Rashed Pradhan has been declared persona non grata in Panchagarh.

At the same time, the party's district office was vandalized.

On Friday (April 17) afternoon, local leaders and activists of Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal took out a protest procession in Panchagarh city. The procession passed through various streets of the city and ended at Chowringhee More.

When the procession reached in front of the JaGPa office in Bakultala area, some aggrieved people vandalized the tin fence and chairs and tables inside the office.

Earlier, this programme was held to protest against Rashed Pradhan's 'offensive' comments about Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

At a short rally after the procession, speakers asked Rashed Pradhan to apologize immediately and declared him persona non grata in Panchagarh until he apologizes publicly.

District Jubo Dal General Secretary Nuruzzaman Babu claimed that their programme was just a peaceful procession and rally. He also said that their organization had no involvement in the incident of vandalism at the JaGPa office.

Although tension arose in the area over the incident, the situation is said to have normalized later.
