Rashidun Nabi and Fatima Tuz Johra to get Bangla Academy's Nazrul Award

Professor Rashidun Nabi and renowned artist Fatima Tuz Johra have been nominated for the 'Nazrul Award 2026' organized by Bangla Academy.

Bangla Academissued a press note in this regard on Wednesday afternoon.

Fatima Tuz Johra has been closely associated with Nazrul music for a long time. As a regular artist of Bangladesh Betar and Television, she has made Nazrul's songs popular among the new generation. Her performances on various stages in the country and abroad have been appreciated.

Professor Rashidun Nabi has written important articles and books after researching Nazrul's life, literature and philosophy for a long time. His contribution in enriching the study of Nazrul in Bengali literature is particularly noteworthy.

The 'Nazrul Award 2026' will be officially presented on the occasion of the poet's 127th birth anniversary at a function organized by Bangla Academy on May 23 (Saturday) at 3 pm.
