RDJAD holds iftar gathering in Dhaka

An iftar gathering organised by the Rajshahi Division Journalists Association Dhaka (RDJAD) was held in a cordial atmosphere. The event took place on Wednesday, March 11 (21 Ramadan 1447 Hijri) at a local restaurant in Dhaka.

With the presence of a large number of members, the gathering turned into a reunion of journalists from the Rajshahi Division who are working in Dhaka. The event was chaired by the association’s president Riaz Uddin and moderated by general secretary Dipak Dev. Several founding members of the organisation also attended the iftar and delivered remarks.

Speakers said the eight districts of Rajshahi Division still remain neglected. Therefore, they stressed that journalists from the region working in Dhaka must remain united to contribute to the development of their home districts. Members also emphasised increasing organisational activities.

Among others, founding president Khairuzzaman Kamal and founding general secretary Alamgir Hossain delivered speeches. Senior members Shahnewaz Dulal, Abdullah Al Mamun and Paban Ahmed also spoke at the event. Journalist leaders from the eight districts of Rajshahi Division also addressed the gathering.

The Rajshahi Division Journalists Association, Dhaka is the only organisation representing professional journalists from the eight districts of Rajshahi Division who work in various media outlets in the capital. The association currently has more than 400 members.
