Red carpet welcome for PM in Beijing

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was given a red carpet welcome and a guard of honour after arriving in Beijing from Dalian, China. The Prime Minister arrived at the Chaoming Railway Station in Beijing at 5:35pm local time today. His wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman is accompanying him.

From the railway station, the Prime Minister was taken to the Diaoyutai Guest House (State Guest House) in China with a special motorcade. The Prime Minister, his wife and the accompanying party will stay at this guest house in Beijing.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left for Beijing by high-speed train (bullet train) from Dalian North Railway Station at 1:58pm local time.

Before arriving in Beijing, the Prime Minister attended the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) at the Dalian International Conference Center in Dalian, China, at 10am local time.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Dalian, China, last Monday. This was the second leg of his first foreign visit as Prime Minister. Earlier, as part of his first official foreign visit after assuming office, he went to Malaysia on a two-day official visit from Dhaka on June 21.
