Regardless of race, religion and caste, we are all human beings, all Bangladeshis and it is possible to build a prosperous country through the participation of all.

Ahmed Sohel Manjur Suman, the president of Bhandaria Upazila BNP, who has been nominated for Pirojpur-2 (Bhandaria, Kaukhali and Nesarabad) constituency, said this while exchanging views with the leaders of the Swarupkathi Municipality Temple Committee on Tuesday.

He said: "There is no such word-minority. Our identity is that we are all Bangladeshis. All movements in the country for the sake of achieving rights are movements of the oppressed people, regardless of race, religion and caste."

He also said: "I am the son of the late minister freedom fighter Nurul Islam Manjur. My family believe in the spirit of the Liberation War. Forgetting all differences, if we, people of all religions, can unite and make the uncompromising leader, mother of democracy Khaleda Zia's election symbol win, then the national hero Tarique Rahman will be able to build a prosperous country."

Former mayor, BNP leader Shafiqul Islam Farid, Municipal BNP President Kazi Kamal Hossain, General Secretary Mainul Islam and others spoke at the event with Swarupkathi Temple Committee President Utpal Samaddar in the chair. The exchange of views was moderated by Manik Lal Dutta, general secretary of the Temple Committee.
