Remittance hits Tk 33,000 crore in September
The upward trend of remittance inflow continues, with expatriates sending USD 2.68 billion in September. In local currency (calculated at Tk 122 per dollar), this amounts to nearly Tk 32,757 crore, according to the latest Bangladesh Bank report.
State-owned banks received USD 466.8 million, specialised (agriculture) banks USD 258.2 million, private banks USD 1.95 billion, and foreign banks USD 6.2 million.
Remittances stood at USD 2.47 billion in July and USD 2.42 billion in August. The highest inflow of the last fiscal year (2024–25) was in March with USD 3.29 billion, while the annual total reached USD 30.33 billion—26.8% higher than the previous year.
