Bangladesh received $2,031 million in remittances in the first 19 days of the current month of August. The country had received $1,573 million during the same period last year, marking a 29.10 percent rise in remittance this time. According to Bangladesh Bank data, expatriates alone sent $64 million to the country on August 19. Total remittance inflow to the country stood at $4,890 million from July 1 to August 19 of the current fiscal year, compared to $4,051 million during the same period of the last fiscal year, marking a 20.7 percent rise in remittance during this period.

চলতি আগস্ট মাসের প্রথম ১৯ দিনে দেশে ২০৩ কোটি ১০ লাখ মার্কিন ডলারের প্রবাসী আয় এসেছে। গত বছরের একই সময়ে এসেছিল ১৫৭ কোটি ৩০ লাখ ডলার। ফলে এবার প্রবাসী আয় বেড়েছে ২৯ দশমিক ১০ শতাংশ। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, ১৯ আগস্ট এক দিনেই প্রবাসীরা দেশে পাঠিয়েছেন ৬ কোটি ৪০ লাখ ডলার। চলতি অর্থবছরের ১ জুলাই থেকে ১৯ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত দেশে মোট প্রবাসী আয় এসেছে ৪৮৯ কোটি ডলার। গত অর্থবছরের একই সময়ে এসেছিল ৪০৫ কোটি ১০ লাখ ডলার। অর্থাৎ এ সময়ে প্রবাসী আয় বেড়েছে ২০ দশমিক ৭ শতাংশ।
