RFK Human Rights delegation team meets IGP
A high-level delegation team from the US-based Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organisation met with Bangladesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam on Wednesday morning to discuss the state of human rights in the country.
The meeting took place at the police headquarters in Dhaka.
The delegation, led by Kerry Kennedy, President of the organisation, included Angelita Baynes, Vice President of International Advocacy and Litigation, and Catherine Cooper, Asia Staff Attorney.
During the discussion, the delegation raised various human rights concerns and engaged in dialogue on law enforcement practices in Bangladesh.
IGP Baharul Alam emphasized the Bangladesh Police's ongoing commitment to upholding human rights, maintaining the rule of law, and promoting transparency and accountability within the force.
Senior police officials were also present at the meeting.
