Ride-sharing Motorcyclist killed in Hatirjheel accident

A motorcycle rider was killed in a road accident in Hatirjheel, Dhaka, after being struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday.

The accident occurred at around 5:15 am.

Md. Hasan, 30, sustained critical injuries and was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital, where the attending physician declared him dead around 6am.

Hasan was a resident of Mirzanagar village in Begumganj Upazila, Noakhali. He worked as a Pathao/Uber ride-sharing motorcyclist and had been living in the Hatirjheel area of the capital.

Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

He added that Hatirjheel Police Station has been informed of the accident, and the incident will be investigated before the necessary legal action is taken.
