BNP senior joint secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of attempting to confuse the public ahead of the elections and foment political instability. “Jamaat-e-Islami acts as a shadow government for the ruling administration,” Rizvi said.

He made the remarks on Wednesday while releasing fish fry at the lake near the mausoleum of Ziaur Rahman.

Rizvi criticized a recent interview given to an international media outlet by a chief advisor, claiming it has created uncertainty about the elections. “The public does not expect uncertainty regarding voting. People want elections to be held promptly. Yet, Islamic parties are making PR claims to divert public opinion,” he said.

The BNP leader also warned that anti-Bangladesh forces are attempting to destabilize the country. “India has never wished well for Bangladesh,” Rizvi added, highlighting that the nation’s economy is facing significant challenges.
