Rizvi calls on BNP leaders to stay vigilant during Durga Puja
Senior Joint Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, has urged BNP leaders and activists across the country to remain vigilant ahead of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja celebrations.
Speaking at a virtual meeting on Friday with district and city BNP presidents, general secretaries, and divisional organizational secretaries, Rizvi emphasized the importance of maintaining peace at Puja venues.
“We must prevent any acts of sabotage or conspiracy and call on the administration to stay alert,” Rizvi said. He urged party members to cooperate to ensure the festival is conducted smoothly and urged them to stand in solidarity with the Hindu community. Rizvi warned against opportunists and those seeking to damage the country’s image, calling for heightened vigilance to avoid any disruptions.
Highlighting Bangladesh’s tradition of communal harmony, Rizvi said it is the moral, political, and social responsibility of BNP leaders, alongside the administration, to ensure security during the Hindu community’s largest religious festival.
Rizvi also called on authorities to take strict measures to maintain order, noting that there are attempts to foment disorder at Puja pandals to tarnish the nation’s image. “The administration must remain watchful,” he added.
