Rizvi confident Chhatra Dal will win DUCSU if election is fair
Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the BNP, expressed confidence that the Chhatra Dal panel will win the Dhaka University Central Student Council (DUCSU) elections, provided they are held freely and fairly.
Speaking at a discussion and rally organized by the Dhaka District BNP to mark the party’s 47th founding anniversary, Rizvi described Chhatra Dal as a party rooted in movement, struggle, and principles. “If Dhaka University students can exercise their voting rights without restrictions, Chhatra Dal will be victorious,” he said.
On the ongoing debate over the Proportional Representation (PR) system, Rizvi criticised the proposal, stating, “Suddenly, some political parties are discussing PR. But do the common people understand it? Villagers and ordinary citizens have no idea what it means. This system has never been implemented before and lacks any precedent. The people do not want it.”
The event was chaired by Khondkar Abu Ashfaq, President of Dhaka District BNP, and moderated by General Secretary Nipun Roy. Other notable speakers included BNP Health Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Dr. Dewan Salauddin Babu, Tamiz Uddin, and Volunteer Party Vice President Zahidul Kabir.
