Rizwana to propose electric buses by November at advisory meeting

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has announced her plans to present a proposal at an upcoming advisory meeting to introduce electric buses by November. She urged the ministry to take swift action to deploy the buses on city roads.

Speaking at the third NDC workshop of the Department of Environment in Agargaon on Sunday, Rizwana highlighted the ministry’s new initiative to involve young people in this year’s NDC activities. “Many are reluctant to invest in waste management, with most attention focused solely on mega projects,” she said, calling for change at the grassroots level.

She also pointed out the lack of a concrete national waste management plan, adding that the Department of Environment will take several new steps to address the issue.
