A luxury Rolls-Royce lost control and crashed over the road divider on the 300-foot road in Rupganj’s Purbachal area on Saturday afternoon, seriously injuring four people, including Masko Group Managing Director Ahmed Arif Billah and his son Tawab Billah. According to Tapas Kumar Kundu, in-charge of the Purbachal police camp, the accident occurred around 4 PM near Sulfina. The vehicle, carrying Ahmed Arif Billah, his son Tawab Billah, and two officers, veered off course, crossed the road divider, and collided on the opposite side of the road. Local residents, aided by the army, promptly rescued the injured and rushed them to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for treatment. Police have recovered the damaged vehicle and are investigating the cause of the crash.

নারায়ণগঞ্জের রূপগঞ্জ পূর্বাচল ৩০০ ফুট সড়কে একটি প্রাইভেটকার নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে সড়ক বিভাজক টপকে দুমড়েমুচড়ে গেছে। এতে মাসকো গ্রুপের এমডি আহমেদ আরিফ বিল্লাহ, ছেলে তাওয়াব বিল্লাহসহ চার জন গুরুতর আহত হয়েছেন। শনিবার (১৯ জুলাই) বিকেলের দিকে সড়কের সুলফিনা এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। পূর্বাচল পুলিশ ক্যাম্পের ইনচার্জ তাপস কুমার কুণ্ডু জানান, শনিবার বিকেল ৪টার দিকে উপজেলার কাঞ্চন নিজ বাড়ি থেকে মাসকো গ্রুপের এমডি আহমেদ আরিফ বিল্লাহ, তার ছেলে তাওয়াব বিল্লাহ, কর্মকর্তা রুম্মান ও রুমানকে নিয়ে রোলস রয়েস ব্র‍্যান্ডের বিলাসবহুল একটি প্রাইভেটকারে ঢাকা যাচ্ছিলেন। পথে পূর্বাচল ৩০০ ফিট সড়কের সুলফিনা এলাকায় পৌঁছালে গাড়িটি নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে সড়ক বিভাজক টপকে বিপরীতমুখী সড়কে দুমড়েমুচড়ে যায়। এতে গাড়িতে থাকা সবাই গুরুতর আহত হন। এ সময় সেনাবাহিনীর সহায়তায় স্থানীয়রা আহতদের উদ্ধার করে রাজধানীর এভারকেয়ার হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করেন। পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল থেকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত প্রাইভেটকারটি উদ্ধার করেছে।
