It has been a full year since the full committee of the Rajshahi University (RU) unit of Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was announced, yet the organization has failed to form committees in any of the university's six female residential halls. On August 17 last year, alongside the 113-member full university committee, partial committees were declared for 11 male dormitories, leaving the female halls completely without committees.

Central JCD instructions issued at the time directed the university unit to form all hall committees within 15 days of the full committee announcement. Nearly a year past the deadline, allegations have surfaced regarding a crisis of female workers within the organization.

Addressing the delay, Jahin Biswas Esha, Joint General Secretary of RU JCD, stated that plans to form committees in female halls were deferred due to subsequent focus on Raksu-related activities. She mentioned that while leaders and activists are present across all dormitories, candidate lists are currently being collected and committees are expected to be announced soon.

Sardar Johurul, General Secretary of RU JCD, explained that while male hall committees were formed quickly per central guidelines, organizing in female dormitories proved more challenging. He added that efforts to recruit female students have been ongoing since the university unit's inception, and candidate shortlists are already compiled.

Sultan Ahmed Rahi, President of RU JCD, noted that several female students were previously evaluated and appointed to the main university committee and assigned responsibilities for various dormitories. He emphasized that hall committees are a process requiring scrutiny of organizational skills and political efficiency, assuring that the task is in its final stages. Responding to queries regarding a shortage of female activists, Rahi remarked that while female students were previously reluctant to join politics, more are coming forward due to JCD's positive activities, and committees for all six female halls will be announced soon once approved by the central leadership.
