RU suspends classes, exams for 2 days ahead of RUCSU elections

Rajshahi University (RU) has suspended all classes and examinations for two days in preparation for the 2025 Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), Hall Parliament, and Senate Student Representative elections.

The decision was announced in a notification signed by Acting Registrar Iftikharul Alam Masud on Monday (September 15).

According to the notice, all academic activities and offices will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday, September 24 and 25, 2025, to facilitate the smooth conduct of the elections.

Essential services, including water, electricity, medical, security, and telephone services, will continue to operate as usual.

Acting Registrar Iftikharul Alam Masud said the RUCSU elections are being held after a gap of 35 years, with polling stations set up in the university’s academic building.

He added that the temporary suspension of classes and exams is necessary to ensure proper election preparations, while administrative activities will continue uninterrupted.
