RU teacher injured in road accident dies

Dr Puranjit Mahaldar, an associate professor of the Bangla department of Rajshahi University (RU), who was injured in a road accident, has breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) around 2:35am on Monday.

Confirming this information on Tuesday (January 14) morning, RU Public Relations Department Administrator Professor Dr Akhtar Hossain Majumdar said, “Dr Puranjit Mahaldar was seriously injured in a road accident at the Bar Road intersection in Rajshahi city on Monday afternoon. Later, he was undergoing treatment at the ICU unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. He died there.”

Expressing grief over the death of his colleague, the university's Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Main Uddin said, “On behalf of the Rajshahi University administration, I express my deep condolences to his bereaved family members.”
