The Jatiyatabadi Teachers’ Forum of Rajshahi University has accused Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU) General Secretary Salahuddin Ammar of creating a climate of fear and disorder on campus through threats and abusive language.

In a statement issued late Monday (December 23), Forum President Prof. Md Abdul Alim and General Secretary Prof. Mohammad Amirul Islam condemned what they described as Ammar’s misconduct toward teachers, officials, and staff.

"RUCSU GS has created a frightening and anarchic atmosphere on campus," he said.

The statement alleged that the RUCSU general secretary locked offices, engaged in unruly behaviour, and intimidated university personnel, disrupting academic and research activities and damaging the institution’s reputation.

The forum demanded a proper investigation and legal action against those responsible, warning that taking the law into one’s own hands reflects authoritarian tendencies.

University sources said Ammar allegedly insulted several deans through social media posts and public statements, and used threats to pressure at least six deans to submit resignation letters.

He is also accused of locking administrative offices and enforcing campus blockades, leading to disruptions in academic operations.

The forum called on the authorities to take immediate steps to curb disorder and ensure a safe and respectful environment for education and research.
