Russian worker found dead in Pabna

A Russian national employed at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna, found dead at a rented residence in the districts' Jigatola area on Saturday night (September 20).

The deceased was been identified as Karpov Krill, 26, an electrician working for ESKM Company, one of the contractors involved in the project.

Afzal Hossain, in-charge of the Ishwardi Ambagan Police Outpost, said that Krill had been living alone at the rented residence. Concern was raised after his family abroad was unable to reach him, prompting his colleagues to inform the company’s security officials. When the door was forcibly opened, Krill was found unresponsive on the bed and was later pronounced dead by a visiting doctor.

Pranab Kumar Sarkar, additional superintendent of Police (Ishwardi Circle), said, "Initial investigations indicate Krill may have died from a brain stroke. He had recently undergone treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka."

"The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital for post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death will be determined upon receiving the autopsy report," the ASP added.
