Saber Hossain Chowdhury granted bail in six cases

A Dhaka court has granted bail to former Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury in six separate cases, including four murder charges and two attempted murder charges.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziadur Rahman issued the bail order today (October 8).

Earlier, the court granted a five-day remand after police presented Chowdhury for questioning about the killing of BNP worker Maqbul Hossain during a clash in Nayapaltan two years ago.

During the proceedings, police reported that Chowdhury was experiencing health issues, which led his legal team to file for bail in four murder cases at Khilgaon Police Station and two additional cases at Paltan Police Station.

After considering the arguments from both sides, the court granted bail in all six cases.
