Sabrina elected member of IWA Central Strategic Council

Sabrina Rashid Sheonty of Bangladesh has been elected as a member of the Central Strategic Council of the International Water Association (IWA). She is co-founder and director of Tetra, an organisation focused on water issues.

On October 31, in London, Sabrina Rashid was elected as a member of the IWA Strategic Council.

The International Water Association is a globally recognised network. Professionals from over 130 countries working on water management collaborate through it. Their goal is to establish sustainable water management through innovation, science and policy.

The IWA Strategic Council advises the Governing Assembly, Board of Directors and Executive Director on long-term matters, planning, activities and programmes to fulfil the association’s objectives. It also helps coordinate the activities of various specialist groups, task groups, task forces, clusters and other working groups of the association.

Sabrina Rashid Sheonty said, ‘Being elected to the IWA Central Strategic Council will further accelerate my work. Our aim and effort is to create a stable and sustainable environment for future generations.’

On the matter, Md Anwar Hossain, chairman of IWA Bangladesh and president of Bangladesh Water Works Association, told Views Bangladesh, ‘Sabrina’s outstanding achievement recognises her exceptional contribution to the water sector. We wish her continued success. May she play a key role in advancing sustainable water management and further enhance Bangladesh’s global standing.’
