Saint Martin's Island to reopen for tourists on 1 November
Saint Martin’s Island will reopen to tourists on 1 November, with the government allowing up to 3,500 visitors a day during the upcoming tourism season.
The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting on tourist travel to the country’s only coral island on Sunday (25 October).
According to the decision, tourists will be allowed to visit the island from 1 November to 15 March.
The government has also increased the daily visitor limit to 3,500 from the previous cap of 2,000, allowing an additional 1,500 tourists to travel to the popular destination each day.
The decision paves the way for the resumption of tourist travel to St Martin’s Island ahead of the peak winter tourism season.
