Arrest warrant issued against Sajeeb Wazed Joy

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued an arrest warrant against Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with killings during the July–August uprising.

The order was issued Thursday afternoon (December 4) following the submission of the formal charges earlier today.

The tribunal alos ordered accused Zunaid Ahmed Palak, already in custody for multiple cases, to appear before the tribunal on December 10.

Investigation reports had earlier been submitted against Sajeeb Wazed Joy, along with former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman, and former State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

Under tribunal procedures, the investigative agency submits its findings to the Chief Prosecutor’s office, which then reviews and files formal charges in court.
