Sajid rescued alive

The fire service has been able to rescue a two-year-old child Sajid who fell into an abandoned deep tube well in Tanore of Rajshahi, alive. Later, he was taken to the Tanore Upazila Health Complex. His health check-up is currently underway.

The child was rescued at 8:50pm on Thursday (December 11). Earlier, the child fell into the pipe of the deep tube well on Wednesday (December 10) afternoon.

Tanore Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Naima Khan confirmed that the child was rescued alive.

The groundwater level in this village of Pachander Union in Tanore Upazila of Rajshahi has dropped significantly. There is now a ban on installing deep tube wells in this area. In this situation, a person named Kashir Uddin of Koelhat village dug the hole to check whether the water level was available on his land or not. He also filled the hole, but during the monsoon, the soil settled and a new hole was formed. The child fell into that shaft.
