Former Law Minister Anisul Huq and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s advisor Salman F Rahman have been sent to jail following the end of their two-day police remand in connection with the murder of Sajedur Rahman Omar during an anti-discrimination protest in Jatrabari, Dhaka.
On Friday (July 25), following the conclusion of their remand, the investigating officer, Md. Amirul Islam Mir, presented them before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan and requested their detention in jail. The court granted the plea and ordered them to be sent to prison.
Previously, on July 23, a Dhaka court had granted a two-day remand for their interrogation in the same case.
