Satirical posters of Ghulam Azam appear at Chattogram University

Satirical posters of 1971 war criminal Ghulam Azam have appeared at various locations at Chattogram University (CU) on Monday morning, April 6. The posters feature shoe marks drawn on his face with the caption: "Hit me with shoes."

The posters were seen on walls at Zero Point washroom, Ladies Jhupri and Kala Jhupri.

CU Central Students' Union (CACSU) AGS and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Joint General Secretary Ayubur Rahman Taufique said Ghulam Azam was a highly controversial figure in Bangladesh's history, and many hold resentment against him due to his actions during the Liberation War.

University Proctor Hossain Shahid Sarwardi said someone might have put up such posters to destabilise the campus, but the university administration is making utmost efforts to keep the environment normal.
