Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister arrives in Dhaka on 2-day visit
Saudi Arabia's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Engineer Waleed Al-Khereiji arrived in Dhaka on Monday night on a two-day official visit to participate in various programmes with the Bangladesh government.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Saudi deputy minister was welcomed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir.
The Saudi deputy minister is scheduled to attend official programmes during this brief visit before departing Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the itinerary, the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister will hold a joint meeting on Tuesday morning with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam and the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir. Later in the afternoon, he will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The visit is taking place against the backdrop of continued close bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in various fields, including labour migration, trade, investment and regional issues.
