Saudi king, crown prince and Qatari Emir mourn Khaleda Zia’s death
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud have expressed deep sorrow over the death of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
In a condolence message sent to President Mohammed Shahabuddin last Thursday, King Salman prayed for Khaleda Zia, asking Allah to grant her eternal peace, forgive her sins and bestow Jannah upon her. He also prayed for patience and comfort for her family.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in a separate message, expressed similar condolences.
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a condolence message to the president, expressing deep sympathy over the death of Bangladesh’s first female prime minister.
Khaleda Zia passed away on Tuesday (December 30). She was laid to rest with state honours the following day beside the grave of her husband, former president Ziaur Rahman, at Zia Udyan in the capital.
