SB Chief Golam Rasul promoted to Grade-1 Additional IGP

The government has promoted Md. Golam Rasul, currently serving as Additional Inspector General (IGP) in the Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police, to Grade-1 Additional IGP.

The promotion was confirmed through a notification issued on Monday by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The order, signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Mahbubur Rahman, states that the decision has been made in the public interest and will take immediate effect.

Following the promotion, Golam Rasul has been directed to submit his joining letter to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the appropriate authority.

Md. Golam Rasul has been serving as the head of the Special Branch since January 13 this year. His leadership in the intelligence wing of the police has been widely noted, and the promotion reflects the government’s recognition of his service and contributions to national security.
