Schools, colleges to close for 12 days for major religious festivals

The Ministry of Education has announced a 12-day holiday, from September 28 to October 9, for all educational institutions across the country on the occasion of Durga Puja, Bijoya Dashami, Fateha-e-Yazdaham, Prabarana Purnima, and Lakshmi Puja.

According to an official order issued on Wednesday (September 24), no examinations will be held during the holiday period.

The ministry instructed institutions not to impose any academic pressure, ensuring the festivals are observed with due solemnity and festivity in line with the approved 2025 annual holiday calendar.
