Sea ports asked to hoist cautionary signal 3
A low-pressure system is present over the eastern-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Myanmar coast, which may move north-northwest toward the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast. As a result, deep convective cloud formations have developed over the northeastern Bay of Bengal.
Under these conditions, gusty or squally winds are expected along the coasts of Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar, as well as over the northeastern Bay of Bengal.
Therefore, the Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar sea ports have been advised to display number 3 local alert signals. The warning was issued on Tuesday, November 4, by meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman.
In addition, fishing boats and trawlers operating in the northeastern Bay of Bengal have been advised to navigate cautiously near the coast until further instructions from the Department of Meteorology.
