‘Secretly taking photos’, more than fifty injured in clash in Habiganj

More than fifty people including women, men and children have been injured in a clash between two sides centering the allegation of secretly taking photos of women bathing in Baniachong of Habiganj.

OC of Baniachong police station Md Nazmul Haque has informed that this clash incident occurred in Katkhal village of Pukra Union of the upazila on Sunday afternoon.

According to the locals it is known that recently several women from the side of President of Pukra Union BNP Kazi Lutfar Rahman were bathing in a pond of Katkhal village. At that time allegation arose that two sons of local Erajat Mia secretly took photos of those women on mobile phone.

When the matter became known tension appeared between the people of the sides of Kazi Lutfar Rahman and Erajat Mia. At one stage people of the two sides got involved in a clash with indigenous weapons.

The locals informed that more than fifty people including women, men and children of the two sides were injured in the clash that continued for about two hours. Later the seriously injured were rescued and given treatment at Habiganj Sadar Hospital.

OC Nazmul Haque said getting the news police of Baniachong police station and local leaders went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
