A tense situation continues in Khagrachhari following violence over the rape of a schoolgirl. An indefinite road blockade called by Jumma students and locals entered its fourth day, though blockades on Khagrachhari–Chattogram and Khagrachhari–Dhaka highways were eased on Monday. Section 144, however, remains in force across several areas.

On Sunday, three indigenous men killed in violence at Guimara were sent for post-mortem. Their bodies were handed over to families on Monday night and cremated the same evening.

Law enforcement, including army patrols and 10 platoons of BGB, remain deployed.

The district administration confirmed discussions with Jumma student representatives, who placed eight demands including withdrawal of Section 144. No decision was reached.

The unrest stems from the rape of a schoolgirl on September 23, which sparked clashes on September 27–28, leaving three people dead and many injured.
